30+ Celebrities Who Have Been Stalked Before

Being a celebrity comes with many downsides. Every year, stars receive unwanted attention from superfans and stalkers. Some are just overzealous selfie and autograph hunters, while others have far more sinister intentions. From Mark Chapman taking John Lennon’s life and someone sending Björk a letter bomb, to a cat-obsessed man meowing through Kiera Knightley’s letterbox, here are some famous celebrities who have been stalked.

Taylor Swift

Tay-Tay has had her fair share of stalkers. In 2015, Frank Edward Hoover sent threatening letters to her dad saying he was the "real son of God" and calling them "the evil family of devils." In 2018, Julius Sandrock drove from Colorado to Swift's Beverly Hills home wearing a mask and carrying a blade.

Cops arrested Mohammed Jaffar and another man in 2021 for attempting to get into her NYC apartment. In 2022, police arrested Morgan Mank after trying to crash his car into Swift's NYC apartment building.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian has faced multiple stalking incidents over the years. In 2014, a "stinky stalker" broke into her mom, Kris Jenner's home. The malodorous intruder told LAPD officers he was Kendall Jenner's boyfriend and Justin Bieber's stepbrother. In 2021, Nicholas Costanza sent Kim disturbing packages and repeatedly showed up at her home trying to gain entry.

The reality TV star obtained a restraining order against Costanza. In 2024, Melvin Jeffery Conley — who had already stalked Kim's American Horror Story: Delicate co-star Emma Roberts — was arrested after jumping Kris Jenner's fence.

Miley Cyrus

Los Angeles Boys in Blue arrested Devon Meek, a 24-year-old stalker fixated on Miley Cyrus after he repeatedly attempted to contact the "Wrecking Ball" singer and threatened to harm himself if he couldn't be with her. Fueled by delusions, Meek believed Cyrus was communicating with him through her songs.

He was apprehended near her Los Angeles home after telling the cops he would continue pursuing her if they released him. A judge granted Cyrus a restraining order, but Devon Meek was eventually placed in a mental health facility.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones

In the 1980s, Michael Douglas played a man stalked by a sociopathic bunny boiler in Fatal Attraction. Then, during the early 2000s, he and his young wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, were stalked in real life.

Dawnette Knight became obsessed with Michael, and when she read a false tabloid claim that Catherine was having an affair, she sent letters and made phone calls threatening to "feed her to the dogs." In court, Knight said she had an affair with Douglas. She went to jail for three years.
